DONACARBO Chop is made by cutting "pitch-based carbon fiber" (DONACARBO original fiber) into 3 to 10 mm in length. No surface treatment is applied. DONACARBO Chop is mixable with powder, granule, liquid, resin, rubber, and so forth to improve dynamic properties, electrical conductivity, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, or abrasion resistance of the composite. Since DONACARBO Chop is curly, electrical conductivity can be created by mixing much less of DONACARBO Chop than the amount of other straight carbon fiber.

- Reinforcement of thermoset resin and improvement of sliding characteristics, electrical conductivity, heat resistance, or corrosion resistance
- Asbestos substitute as a heat resistant friction material
