Social Media Terms of Use
Osaka Gas Chemicals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) has established the following Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms”) in order to achieve better communication with users through the social media operated by the Company.
1. Operation of Social Media
- Operator: Osaka Gas Chemicals Co., Ltd.
- Content: The Company provides information such as campaign announcements, product introductions, exhibition information, and recruitment-related information.
- Operation Period: The Company may terminate the operation of its social media and delete it without prior notice.
2. Posts and Comments
- The Company’s social media is used as a platform for information dissemination and communication.
- Posts, comments, and other content submitted to the Company’s social media shall be deemed to be information for which the contributor has consented to public disclosure.
- The Company may store and record such information and may publish, display, or otherwise disclose it across various media and formats.
3. Access to Basic Information
- The Company may access publicly available information disclosed by users, such as profiles, photos, posts, and lists.
4. Disclaimer
- The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of information posted on its social media.
- Information disseminated through the Company’s social media does not necessarily represent the Company’s official announcements or views.
- The Company assumes no responsibility for content posted by users (including comments, photos, and videos).
- The Company shall not be liable for any damages, whether direct or indirect, arising from the use or inability to use the Company’s social media, or from the use or inability to use linked websites.
- The Company is not responsible for any disputes arising between users or between users and third parties in connection with the Company’s social media.
- The Company assumes no responsibility for any content posted by accounts using similar names other than the official accounts published on the Company’s website.
- The Company’s social media is operated using systems provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., LY Corporation (LINE Yahoo), Google LLC, X Corp., LinkedIn Corporation, and others. Accordingly, the Company cannot respond to inquiries regarding the operating status of these systems. The Company also cannot respond to questions regarding the functions, usage methods, or technical aspects of software or applications provided by these companies or third parties.
- Content posted on the Company’s social media may be changed or deleted without notice.
- The Company makes no guarantees regarding the functionality or security of its social media.
- The Company may suspend or discontinue the operation of its social media without prior notice.
- The Company shall not be liable for any damage incurred by users or third parties in connection with the Company’s social media.
- The Company shall not be liable for any disputes regarding communication fees incurred through the use of its social media.
- If a user or another user violates any provision of these Terms, the user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its operating office from any claims, lawsuits, or other legal actions.
- Even if videos or images are shared by others, such shared content cannot be traced or deleted by the Company. Furthermore, even if the Company deletes content it deems inappropriate, content that has already been shared by others prior to deletion cannot be tracked and removed by the Company, and the Company assumes no responsibility in such cases.
5. Prohibited Conduct
The following actions are prohibited on the Company’s social media. If a user’s conduct falls under any of the following, the Company may delete the content or block the account:
- Actions that are contrary to the purpose of the Company’s social media
- Actions that interfere with or may interfere with the operation of the Company’s social media
- Tampering with information provided through the Company’s social media
- Actions that cause or may cause inconvenience, disadvantage, or damage to other users, third parties, or the Company
- Identifying, disclosing, or leaking personal information of others without their consent
- Commercial activities conducted through or in connection with the Company’s social media
- Actions that infringe or may infringe the Company’s, other users’, or third parties’ rights, including trademark rights, copyrights, and privacy rights
- Commercial or promotional activities conducted through or in connection with the Company’s social media without the Company’s approval
- Actions that defame or damage the reputation or credibility of specific individuals or organizations
- Actions that are contrary to public order and morals, or providing such information
- Impersonation, fraudulent acts, misleading conduct, or false representations
- Acts that violate laws or may lead to violations
- Election campaigns, religious activities, or similar conduct
- Actions that interfere with the operation of the Company’s social media, including irrelevant postings and spam
- Actions that hinder constructive discussion
- Actions prohibited by social media platform operators (including but not limited to Meta Platforms, Inc., LY Corporation, Google LLC, X Corp., and LinkedIn Corporation)
- Any other actions deemed inappropriate by the Company
6. Handling of Personal Information
- The Company will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and will appropriately handle personal information.
- Personal information obtained by the Company in relation to its social media will be handled in accordance with the Company’s privacy policy.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
- All copyrights and other intellectual property rights (including but not limited to copyrights, design rights, patent rights, utility model rights, trademark rights, and know-how) related to information displayed on the Company’s social media belong to the Company or the respective rights holders.
- Copyrights related to posted content belong to the user who submitted such content. However, by posting content, the user grants the Company a worldwide, non-exclusive right to use all or part of such content (including reproduction, processing, modification, translation, excerpting, and publication) without prior consent or compensation, and agrees not to exercise moral rights against the Company.
8. Changes to These Terms
- The Company may revise these Terms without prior notice.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan.
- Any disputes arising in connection with the Company’s social media shall be subject to the exclusive agreed jurisdiction of the Osaka District Court as the court of first instance.
