Osaka Gas Chemicals Co., Ltd. was established as a sales division to sell coke and tar products supplied by the Osaka Gas Group. This year is the sixtieth anniversary of starting our business as Kansai Tar and Kinki Coke. We have inherited and accumulated the coal chemistry technology of Osaka Gas. We use this technology to advance and expand in the new business fields of carbon materials and fine materials.

In the field of carbon materials, we have contributed to the creation of good living environments with our water purifiers, air purifying filters, and other products that make use of the absorption characteristics of activated carbon fiber. Carbon fiber has other characteristics such as lightness and inflammability, which are useful for heat insulators. In recent years, heat insulators made of carbon fiber have been enjoying increasing demand as indispensable materials for furnaces that purify silicon, which are necessary for solar power generation to solve energy problems.

In the field of fine materials, we have been growing in the business of optics and electronic materials based on the foundation of our inherited chemicals and coke businesses. Our fluoren, for example, is a cutting-edge material with advantages of high refraction and high heat resistance.

We continue to challenge the infinite possibilities of carbon materials and fine materials, and we continue our efforts to create more new products that are ahead of their time.
